ABOUT
FIRST PRESYTERIAN CHURCH
History
First Presbyterian Church of Cozad was first organized in 1892 as
the Sabbath School
with 17 members. The current site was purchased in 1925 to accommodate the
church's growing membership. A special feature of the
then newly-built church were the gargoyles attached to the bell
tower. Gargoyles are a symbol of good will.
Facilities
In addition to the sanctuary, the church building houses a
fellowship hall, kitchen, offices, library, Sunday School rooms, and a
nursery. The church is handicapped accessible.
Mission
Statement
The First Presbyterian Church of Cozad is a community of believers,
belonging to God and one another, empowered by the
Holy Spirit, which leads us to worship God, serve people, and strengthen
ourselves for common ministries of
compassion. We seek to discern God's will, deepen our faith commitment,
affirm our diversity, care for each other, and proclaim the Good News to
others.
